How this is calculated
- Conversion rate = conversions / visitors x 100.
- Lift vs baseline = (rate - baseline) / baseline x 100, shown only when you enter a baseline.
Benchmark ranges vary widely by industry and traffic source. Reported figures like the WordStream conversion benchmarks are a starting reference, not a target. Your own trend line is the more useful comparison.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good conversion rate?
For landing pages, the often-quoted median is around 2 to 5 percent, but it swings hard by industry, traffic source, and intent. Compare against your own past performance before you worry about anyone else.
How do I read the lift number?
Lift is the relative change from your baseline. Going from a 2 percent baseline to a 2.5 percent rate is a 25 percent lift, not a half-point. Relative lift is what most test reports quote.
Is a higher conversion rate always better?
Not on its own. A cheap, low-intent offer can post a high rate while making less money than a lower-rate, higher-value one. Watch revenue per visitor alongside the rate.
