This page explains what AO Network collects when you visit, what we do with it, and the choices you have. Plain language. No filler.
What we collect
When you load a page on aonetwork.com, our analytics tools record basic, non-identifying data about the visit. That includes the page URL, your approximate location (country and region, derived from IP), your browser type, referrer, and how long you stayed.
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store the email address you provided plus the date and source of the signup. That is the only personal data we store about you and only if you choose to give it.
Cookies
aonetwork.com uses a small number of cookies. We treat them as functional because the site is informational and the cookies exist to measure how the content performs and to remember your preferences.
- Google Analytics: measures pageviews and session activity. IP addresses are anonymized by Google Analytics 4 by default. The cookies expire after up to two years.
- Vercel: our hosting provider may set short-lived cookies for security and performance.
We do not run advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or any cross-site tracking. We do not sell your data to anyone.
Analytics tools
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which articles get read and where readers come from. The data is aggregated and used to plan future content.
If you would prefer that Google Analytics not collect data from your visit, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or enable Do Not Track in your browser.
Affiliate links
Some posts on AO Network contain affiliate links to software products we cover. When you click an affiliate link and buy the product, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. These links are always disclosed inside the relevant post.
Our editorial process does not change based on who pays affiliate commissions. We cover products we genuinely think are worth recommending and skip products we do not.
Newsletter
If you sign up for the Always-On Brief, your email is stored with our email service provider. You can unsubscribe from any email we send. When you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you and remove your address from active sending.
Third parties
The services that touch your data when you use this site are:
- Vercel (hosting)
- Google Analytics (measurement)
- Sanity (content management, no visitor data)

Each of these third parties has its own privacy policy and we recommend reading them if you want to understand how they handle data.
Your choices

- Install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on to exclude your visits from analytics
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time
